Hey, I’m Kate - in case we haven’t met!
I’m a multi-media artist, wildlife photography guide, writer and adventurer. You can read a little more about the adventures here on Studio Carragher or at www.katecarragher.com

My art is a fusion of all those different art forms, but in teaching I love to weave story-telling and tutoring together and the lessons from the wild, to help inspire a connection to nature, each other, and self-expression.

Raised by an artist and mathematician, I was surrounded by art growing up and art has remained part of my world ever since. With an art school in our garage - at some points, not a wall or surface in our our house was left untouched. Painting, drawing and creating together was something I share deeply with my Mum and sister, and occasionally our Dad, as well as my two brother’s children.

Knowing how special that can be - I love to see families come together to try something new and to create.

I also love to create with my friends and this can be a fun way to spend some time together with mates.

It’s a fun, expressive and judgement-free zone. If we feel like a calm environment while painting, we can make it so. If we feel like pumping some music while we create, we can do that too!

THE CLASSROOM
The class is held in a cottage garden studio in the heritage-listed town of Catherine Hill Bay, NSW, overlooking bush and hills in the back and with the ocean across the road.
